    The label owes an unusual name to its founder's favourite cuddly toy from her childhood days. Constanze Alef was given a plush hippo at birth, which her parents named Fred. When the cuddly friend was lost and even newspaper advertisements were unsuccessful, Fred's brother came into play to comfort little Constanze over the loss of her much-loved toy (Bruder means brother in German). The brother of the lost Fred remained well-behaved and by the side of the brand founder for years. To this day, he accompanies her on trips – in respect for his seniority in a roomy FredsBruder bag made of soft leather. The label was launched in 2006 and since then offers bags and accessories that, similar to a favourite cuddly toy, always stay by your side and provide a high feel-good factor.
