The company was founded in 1970 under the name "Bree Collection" by Wolf Peter Bree and his wife Renate in Isernhagen, Lower Saxony. The founders concentrated on pragmatic bags made of natural leather from the beginning. Over time, Bree bags have become the epitome of pure elegance. Nevertheless, they are first and foremost practical everyday objects. The brand has won more design awards than any other in the world. Among the trophies are the iF Product Design Award and the ILM Award. In 2018, the company's location was moved to Hamburg. Bree bags have always stood out for their long durability. Most leather models are made from sustainably tanned leather. The newer collections take a further step towards environmental friendliness and feature Bree backpacks made from recycled PET material.
