    Db – Innovation, functionality and sustainability

    Douchebags was founded in Norway in 2009 by freeskiing legend Jon Olsson and engineer Truls Brataas with the clear aim of revolutionizing the definition of equipment and thereby enabling an improved travel experience. After a few years, the name Douchebags became a problem, especially for native English speakers, which was addressed and the shortened version Db was created.
    Db's impressive achievements have seen it win the prestigious Gaselle Award six times, indicating continuous triple-digit growth and sustained profitability since its official launch in 2012. Db is also a multiple winner of the ISPO Design Award and Truls Brataas was honoured with the coveted International Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

    Sustainability meets equipment

    Several sustainable practices are implemented at Db. For example, production orders are shipped by ship instead of by plane. This makes it possible to achieve the goal of transporting less than 1% of total mass production by air. The brand's offices are powered by renewable energy, and public transport and bicycles are used for commuting.
    The functional products should be suitable for all journeys and are designed for durability, functionality and the lowest possible impact on the environment. Every effort is also made to extend the service life of the products, for example.
