    The success story of the American label Chrome Industries began in 1995 in a garage in Boulder, Colorado with the development of a messenger bag, which was intended for daily use on the bike and should therefore be particularly robust and easy to handle. True to the motto "less is more", Chrome has always stood for an authentic street style that convinces with its clean design, functionality and durability and is aimed at all those who walk or cycle every day in the urban jungle - from casual skaters and photographers to managers.

    A buckle with cult status

    In addition to the Chrome Griffin, the buckles on the shoulder straps, which resemble a car seat belt buckle, are characteristic of the bags of the American label. The reason for this lies in the optimization of Chrome's first messenger bag: Annoyed by the fact that the messenger always has to be pulled over the head, the founders of Chrome Industries were looking for a robust, functional solution. They found it at a junkyard: The buckles of the seat belts of old cars were to become the first prototypes of the closure system of today's so successful Chrome bags. With just one click, the shoulder strap can be opened so that the bag can be put down without guiding it over the head. Since 2004 the buckles are made of metal. This not only makes them particularly resilient, but also blends in perfectly with the casual-urban look of the label.

    Materials - robust and waterproof

    Chrome bags and backpacks are made of robust industrial materials that are resistant to all eventualities that urban life has in store - be it pouring rain or dragging over the asphalt. Two different materials are used for the bag body: The outer cover is usually made of CORDURA, a polyamide fabric that is abrasion-resistant. The lining is made of waterproof truck tarpaulin and thus offers the contents of the bag optimum protection against ingress of water.

    Safe on the road with Chrome

    The logo of the cult label is decorated with the characteristic Chrome Griffin, which consists of the head of a gargoyle, the body of a lion and the wing of an eagle. It embodies strength and vigilance, and thus refers to characteristics that are always required in road traffic. The fact that Chrome attaches particular importance to functional added value can also be seen in the reflective elements integrated in the backpacks and bags in the form of reflective strips, reflective belts and fastening loops. They ensure optimum visibility of the wearer in road traffic and are therefore the perfect companions, especially for cyclists.
