    The product range of Deuter is extensive. The German brand offers various types of backpacks, including hiking backpacks, trekking backpacks, bike backpacks, ski backpacks and daypacks. The bag collection consists of fanny packs, bike bags, shoulder bags, sling bags and sports bags. Deuter also produces bags, backpacks and accessories for travel. High durability and maximum functionality are trademarks of the outdoor brand. The German label stands for extremely durable products and has a reputation as the most important initiator of ethical and environmentally friendly production. Deuter is a member of the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles and Fair Wear Foundation, as well as a founding member of the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA). The brand is also a Bluesign System Partner.

    From everyday life to outdoor adventures – the Deuter assortment

    Backpacks, bags and luggage from Deuter impress with their practicability. Most models are made of nylon, polyester or polyamide. The water-repellent coating is standard for both outdoor models and city backpacks. The German manufacturer is in permanent contact with athletes and customers in order to incorporate their experiences into the design process. The strategy is paying off: Deuter backpacks are regularly listed among the test winners by various outdoor magazines. The standard features include a hydration system preparation, a stabilising chest strap and various fastening systems. But the brand does not only satisfy mountain enthusiasts – the backpacks for everyday use also impress with functional features such as a padded laptop compartment and an ergonomic back panel. Some models close with height-adjustable roll top cover. A larger Deuter daypack usually has an extra padded handle in addition to a carrying strap.

    The travel assortment of the outdoor brand consists of trolleys, travel backpacks and the so-called duffel bags. A typical Deuter trolley has two fixed wheels, a lockable zip and a retractable handle. Standard models come with stowable straps, ventilated hip belt and load adjustment straps. Travel editions of Deuter backpacks feature a reinforced bottom, padded back section with ventilation channels and comfortable position regulating straps. Some variants allow different carrying options thanks to pull-in shoulder straps and a side handle. Both trekking backpacks and travel backpacks include models that have an additional, removable daypack. The cylinder-shaped duffel bags made from synthetic materials are also part of the Deuter range. Equipped with two-way zips and two carrying handles with connection padding, they guarantee a high level of comfort, even with heavy loading. Deuter travel bags provide capacities from 35 to 90 litres. Larger versions are equipped with a padded shoulder strap.

    The brand history of Deuter

    The German leader in the area of functional backpacks developed from the "Mechanical canvas and linen weaving". Hans Deuter founded the company in 1898 in Gersthofen near Augsburg in Bavaria and focused initially on mail bags for the Royal Bavarian Post Office. In 1910, Deuter started producing backpacks and rucksacks, first for the army. Later it provided expedition equipment for the alpine sports. The most prominent examples are the first ascent of the Eiger North Face in 1938 and the first climbing of the Nanga Parbat in 1953. Having equipped the German Olympic team several times is also among the historical highlights of the Deuter story. The German label is one of the oldest backpack manufacturers in the world and has launched many trend-setting innovations. A significant year in the history of the brand is 1984, when the new Aircomfort carrying system with mesh back was introduced. The revolutionary construction allows a ventilation of the back and is still one of the most common attributes of the Deuter backpacks for outdoor use. The world's first bike backpack is a Deuter innovation from 1990. Since 2005 Deuter offers backpacks with a back protector; since 2006 anatomically correct SL women's versions (Slim Line). The latest innovations include backpacks of the EL line (Extra Long): they are designed for tall people with longer backs.
