The rucksacks of the German label are designed with innovative flat shoulder straps that lie on shirts and jackets without wrinkling them. Salzen backpacks are salonable: A brand makes sure that the trend accessory is puristic and pragmatic at the same time. Recycled polyester as much as nylon and leather are used as materials. Also typical for a Salzen backpack is a well-thought-out interior with many compartments for gadgets, cards, sunglasses, cables and the like. Many business and daypack models feature secret pockets with RFID scan protection as well as a trolley clip-on device. Some versions offer direct side access to the laptop compartment. Travel backpacks in cabin size are also part of the product range and are ideal for short trips. A Salzen travel backpack offers enough space for a 15.6 inch laptop. The secret compartment for valuables and the separate bottom compartment for wet clothing or shoes have also proved their worth. A Salzen travel backpack with pull-in straps can alternatively be carried as a bag.

AEP Salzen: a brand with an international touch

The establishment of AEP Salzen is part of the start up story of Fond of Bags GmbH (presently Fonds of GmbH). It all started in 2010 when four friends Florian Michajlezko, Sven-Oliver Pink, Dirk Schülgen and Oliver Steinki launched an ergonomic school bag similar to a trekking backpack – the Ergobag. In 2011 and 2013, this backpack won the Red Dot Design Award and two years later the German brand award as a "Best New Brand" (Ergobag). Salzen was founded in 2015 as a daughter label under the name AEP. Since then, it stands for products that grow with everyday challenges and are characterized by top quality, high functionality and attractive design. The brand attaches great importance to sustainable production. Salzen bags and backpacks are partly (on average up to 75%) made of PET-recycled materials and are PFC-free. The company was awarded the German Sustainability Award in 2016 in the category "Small and medium-sized enterprises". The young brand is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) and a bluesign® system partner.
