More and more manufacturers are turning to so-called ballistic nylon. The material was originally developed as a base material for bulletproof vests. The dense fabric is extremely tear and abrasion resistant. Ballistic nylon is a small exception: it is very difficult to dye compared to other types of nylon, so bags made of this fabric are usually black or other dark colours.
