Behind the unique design of the watches is a random encounter of the company founder Filip Tysander. Immediately after completing his studies, the founder traveled the world and became acquainted with a British Gentleman, who had a certain fascination: he combined a Rolex watch with a NATO watch band. The name of the Gentleman was Daniel Wellington. Impressed by his immaculate and modest fashion Filip Tysander developed a suitable watch collection, trying to captured this style. He founded his brand Daniel Wellington in 2011. As a tribute to the British, each of the Daniel Wellington watches bears the name of a British city, thus giving each timepiece its own British background.
